Languedoc 2017

Carcassonne is one of the most visited towns in the whole Languedoc. It is divided into tow separated "towns", La Cité and la Ville Base due the wars against the Cathars. Today the city is overrun with visitors and gift shops. But the charm of Carcassonne emerges yet in the evening, when day-trippers have departed and floodlights bathe the ancient monuments.
