The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew are a world leader in botanic research and an extraordinarily beautiful an popular public park at the same time. This World Heritage Site was created in the 18th-century as the pleasure gardens of two royal estates and in 1841 were given to the nation. Now display about 40.000 plants, some of them brought back from the voyages of Captain Cook.
