Münsterplatz

View of Aachen Cathedral. From Katschhof you get a nice view of the Carolingian octagon covered by a 17th century dome. Three chapels were added to this side, those of St. Matthias and St. Anne, both Gothic, and the Hungarian chapel. The Katschhof was the inner courtyard of the palace of Charlemagne the Great, and the connection point between the King’s Hall (today’s city hall) and the Marienkirche church (now Aachen Cathedral).
