Sallustiano Obelisk

The Sallustiano obelisk was built at the time of the Roman Empire in imitation of the Egyptian obelisks, copying the hieroglyphs of the Pharaohs Seti I and Ramses II of the Flaminio obelisk. It was carved from red granite from the Syene quarries (Aswan).
