Nuware Eliya, pronounced as 'Nur-elya' is often referred to by the Sri Lankan tourist industry as 'Littel England' because the ambience here has a rose-tinted English country village feel. The town is at the heart of the tea-growing uplands and is the best base for visiting the misty areas of the island.
