Petite France

The gabled façade of the Tanners' House overlooking the Ill, with its associated adjacent quay terrace, was originally built with vast surfaces of perforated and open covered arched gallery balconies, and ventilated attics for the drying needs of the tannery. During the transformation of the building into a restaurant, the open galleries were closed off by a remarkable set of panoramic half-timbered bay windows
