Shanghai is the most dynamic city of China, full of European-style cityscapes, with the sci-fi skyline of Pudong and old temples, street markets and classical Chinese gardens nestle down alleys. The city has three main areas of interest to the visitor.
The Old City is typically Chinese, the former concession areas, once under the direct rule of the French, British and Americans, and Pudong, the newest district, on Huangpu's east bank, with an immense business zone.
