Restaurant: Nishiki Market **** Known as "Kyoto's kitchen", Nishiki street market has more than a hundred of small food shops here, many offering samples to taste,
as well as plenty of restaurants. |

Restaurant: Izumoya *** Our first dinner in Kyoto and is not really impressed by the overall level of the food. We tried sushi, tempura and beer. Good views over Kamo River. You can eat on western tables or on tatami Japanese style.

Restaurant: Caffé Veloce *** This casual cafe is a good place to take a coffee and tea drinks along with some pastries and good sadwiches.

In Takayama - |

Hotel: Takayama Kanko Hotel "Ryokan" **** About 7 minutes from city centre on the hotel's free shuttle, this ryokan has spacious public hot spring baths and several cosy family baths than can be reserved.
It is located on a hill with good views over the town. Rooms are in Japanese-style with paper screens and a low table with floor cushions. Japanese breakfast is serverd. |
In Matsumoto - |

Hotel: Matsumoto Kagetsu **** In a new building with an old-fashioned atmosphere with its antique wooden furnishings in public spaces.
Japanese and Western style breakfast and also western and Japanese-style rooms. Very confortable. |

Restaurant: Baden Baden *** German-style restaurant and bar with English menu. We enjoyed some good pizzas and salads. The staff does not speak barely English but is most attentive and helpful.
They have big table to share meal with many friends.

In Nagano - |

Hotel: Metropolitan Nagano **** This was a very well maintained hotel in the center of Nagano. They offered a good breakfast in the package and there were a number of restaurants in the area.
It was located right next to the train station and connected with internal link passage way to it. Room was also a very good size for Japan standards. Very comfortable with lots space for luggage. |

Hotel: Keio Plaza *****Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo is an excellent hotel. It is located very near Shinjuku station, so it is very convenient. Very good service and hotel facilities too.
It was the first skyscraper raised in Shinjuku. In December 2016, a new top-class club floor will open on the upper floors! In the exclusive club lounge, guests can enjoy a buffet style breakfast
enjoying a panoramic view from 160 meters above the ground. The hotel count with 1,440 guest rooms and 20 restaurants and bars. |

Restaurant: Uoshin *** Brilliant Shashimi izakaya at this place. Enjoyed every bite. Very cozy and friendly atmosphere.
Good quality food, variety of raw and cooked fish, good price, for locals and very typical.

Restaurant: Nescafé Harajuku ***** This place is so trendy! The interior was what brought us in, but the coffee was equally good! You place your order using an Ipad
and there is a mini robot talking to you in Japanese of course :). The staff is nice, mood is relaxing.
