Veliko Tarnovo, was the magnificent capital of the Bulgarian tsars, built along rolling hills and crossed by Yantra river. It has one of the most impressive fortresses in Europe standing proudly over it. The city is complemented with a good handfull of churches located in the Asenova quarter inhabited for centuries by artisans and clerics.
