Central Ireland is the cradle of Irish civilization and the Celts' spiritual home. The rocky stronghold named Rock of Cashel, was a symbol of royal and priestly power for more than a millennium.
From the 5th century it was the seat of the Kings of Munster. In 1101 Cashel passed to the Church and it flourished as a religous centre until a siege by Cronwell in 1647 that ended in a massacre.
Now Rock of Cashel is only sieged by visitors that enjoy with this jewell and the splendids views of the environment.
