Romania 2012

The Bucovina region, part of Moldova, guard one of the most important treasures of Romania, The Painted Monasteries. Stephen the Great and his son Petru Rares erected fortified monasteries and churches troughout this area, many of then survived centuries of war and enjoy Unesco World Heritage status.
