Bulgaria, located in the southeastern corner of Europe, has a rich heritage with medieval churches, venerated monasteries, and folk festivals.
This traditions contrasts with modern Bulgaria that from decades of Comunism has been transformed very quickly to market economy. The Black Sea
coast linned with sandy beaches and spotting with historical ports is the most captivating area. Inland, some two-thirds
parts of Bulgaria's territory is made up of hills and mountains where monasteries shelter communities have preserved the Bulgarian Ortodox Church.
Big cities like Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Veliko Tarnovo with very different personalities are also popular points for tourists interesting in
historical relics and contemporary cultural events.
