Poland situated in the plains of central Europe, has a population of 39 million predominantly devoutly Catholic,
and frontiers that have changed many times over the centuries. Also Poland has been transformated itself from a
communist bloc state to parliamentary democracy and European Union member in a remarkably short period of time.
Today the visitors head for esplendid old cities like Cracow or Gdansk, unspoiled natural scenaries of the Tatras,
Baltic beaches and lake resorts.
