Rhineland-Palatinate 2024

Mainz, the capital of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, enjoyed a glorious past thanks to the fact that the city's electors chose it as their permanent residence. Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers, it holds the leading position in the German wine market. The city's crowning glory is Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the modern printing press and a native of Mainz.
