Rhineland-Palatinate 2024

Before the Romans came, Germanic people had made Worms their capital. Here, Siegfried began his legendary adventures, recorded in The Nibelungenlied. With a rich historical past, the city was, together with Speyer and Mainz, one of the imperial residences on the banks of the Rhine. Worms, situated in the wine-growing region of the Palatinate, extends across a fertile plain on the banks of the river.
